024 - Become An Attractive Person (That People Want To Follow)

Unlock 'Strategic Goodness' to create attraction in your life & business.

Did you ever think about the fact that Adam and Eve didn't perceive themselves as naked until after they sinned?

You see, sin distorts our perspective and shifts the WAY we see things.

It makes us feel 'dirty', less than... like there is something fundamentally wrong with us.

This causes shame and guilt to flood our souls (mind, will, emotions).

Before we know it, there seems to be complete darkness.

But, then something happens.

In the midst of that darkness, when we simply SHIFT our focus a bit... where we behold the goodness of God through Christ on the cross, it can ruin the darkness.

Why does this happen?

When we look at the cross, we see one who died for us, as us, to set us free from the sin that had enslaved us.

By beholding this act of GOODNESS, it changes the very fabric of how we see ourselves.

That's what I want to talk about today.

THE POWER OF GOODNESS.

When you 'get it', it will not only transform your own life, but it will make you more attractive in all that you do.

The same way that Jesus was attractive when he was walking the earth.

Truth is, it's his "SECRET" to the immense success he had in the three short years of doing ministry.

It all comes down to a little verse in Romans 2 that we mostly tend to skip over. (I did for years.)

What is the verse?

Romans 2:4, "Don't you know that the *goodness of God leads to repentance?"

Let's break it down (and why it's so important).

First, we must understand what the word "repentance" actually means.

In the Greek, "repentance" is the word metanoia. This simply means, "to change the way you think".

You see, just like SIN causes us to change the WAY we think, so does goodness to shift us back toward original design.

Simply put, when you truly EXPERIENCE the goodness of God, it completely changes the WAY that you think.

It changes how you see God, how you see yourself, and how you see your life.

This is why JESUS was so attractive when He walked the earth.

He demonstrated goodness in a way that changed the way that people thought.

Just imagine, you're sitting on the side of the road as someone who can't walk. You're legs are mangled.

Chances are you're depressed and simply tired of life.

But, this man comes up to you and in a moment, he heals your legs. The mangled mess becomes unmangled. Muscle grows and you start walking.

That one ACT of goodness changed your life forever.

It changes the very WAY that you think.

You no longer see yourself as a lame person who can't walk.

Imagine the joy. The fresh view on life.

This is what goodness does.

But, it's not LIMITED to Christ. It's available for you to share with people.

Think about it.

Who are the people that you MOST enjoy being around?

It's those that you feel most SEEN by, CARED for, and EMPOWERED around.

These are people who walk in the power of goodness.

Simply put.

When you make your life about sharing GOODNESS to those around you, it will change the way they think about you, themselves, and their life.

The key is learning how to share this goodness.

Here's a simple model that I use that I call "STRATEGIC GOODNESS".

It's the very model that my whole brand is based off of.

It's how we choose to live life and do business - that is fundamentally DIFFERENT than most models you'll find.

Instead of using the typical sales funnels that are only focused on getting a sale, we use GOODNESS to actually help people.

Let's dig into it.

STEP 1 - IDENTIFY

The first step to sharing goodness is to take time to identify WHERE people are actually at.

This takes active-listening and spirit-listening.

Active-listening is where you become super present with the people you're around and simply listen to what they are really dealing with.

Spirit-listening then takes it a bit deeper, by seeing BEYOND what people have said they're struggling with.

This is where you tap into the gifts of the prophetic to truly see people.

When you start to do this, you'll start noticing things that people AREN'T saying.

Like depression, or insecurity.

Again, the biggest key to this is that you must STOP focusing on yourself and start actually focusing on people.

And, this doesn't only work in life, it works in business as well.

As you look at the marketplace that you serve, do this same thing, and you'll truly start to see where the marketplace is at.

It causes people to be fully SEEN.

STEP 2 - MEET

Next, it's our goal to meet the people where they're at with full empathy, using words & language that most connects with them.

This is where we acknowledge the person and the problem that we've identified with grace.

Take Jesus.

One day, when he was walking along, a blind man cried out to him.

Jesus walked over and simply acknowledged that he heard the person, and asked him, "What can I do for you?"

Even though it *seemed obvious what the guy needed, Jesus wasn't going to FORCE things on him.

That simple question showed the man that he was actually CARED for and not just a number to Jesus (like so much street ministry & business is like).

He met the man in his pain.

In the same way, we MUST meet people in their pain.

"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." - President Theodore Roosevelt

STEP 3 - GIVE

Finally, instead of simply empowering people's pain, we want to help them STEP out of it.

We do this by giving them the BEST thing we can give them in that moment, knowing where they ultimately want to go.

In the political arena, there are a lot of people who go into step 2, where they CLAIM to be meeting people where they're at, but they never step into step 3.

This makes a LOT of people a VICTIM to their pains and problems.

But, our goal is to MEET people SO THAT we can help them.

And, we do this, not by WITHHOLDING things, like the world will teach you to do in marketing, but by giving people a taste of GOODNESS right away.

There's a big key to this.

It's the key of giving ONLY what people need right then.

If you don't give anything, but only lead people on, that's manipulation.

If you give too much, it only creates overwhelm and nothing really happens.

Therefore, we must take time to understand how people work.

What is the best thing we can give them right NOW?

This should only be one simple step, that leads to another simple step, and so forth.

Before you know it, by stacking WINS for the people around you, they'll *accidently step into the thing they really want.

In life, this is about inviting friends on journeys for them to be the best person they can be.

In business, this is where, in every touch point, you deliver something of value that LEADS toward the thing they really want.

Conclusion:

By following this simple process of sharing goodness strategically, you can be part of transforming someone's life.

It works in everyday life, as you're hanging out with friends.

And, it works specifically well in business.

People will WANT to be part of your ecosystem.

They'll be attracted to you because they feel SEEN, CARED for, and EMPOWERED.

This is what STRATEGIC GOODNESS is all about.

Use it to cause metanoia (a change in the WAY people think).

Again, let's recap:

1. IDENTIFY where people are actually at,

2. MEET them there with full empathy,

3. and GIVE them the best thing for them in the moment.

That's it.

Now, go share goodness into the world.

Take time to think through your marketing from this perspective.

It'll change how you show up and make it WAY easier to build trust and make a good living transforming lives online.
